The Midwives Association of Zambia (MAZ) is the professional organisation representing all categories of midwives in Zambia.Our mission of MAZ is to promote the provision of quality and evidence-based midwifery practices at community level for women, neonates, children and men at all levels of health care.

The Midwives Association of Zambia (MAZ) is the professional organisation representing all categories of midwives in Zambia.
A group of midwives formed an interest group known as Zambia midwives interest group (ZAMIG) around 2009. This interest group operated under the then Zambia Nurses Association (ZNA) and represented the midwives at the ZNA national council meetings to discuss matters pertaining to midwifery practice and midwives. Realizing that this interest group was not representative at national level and was not officially recognized, the Midwives came together and formed an association.
